About this event

Spend a summery Sunday relaxing and learning about the ancient process of harnessing nature to create inks. We’ll follow one of the many processes of creating ink and you’ll be provided with a handout that allows you to continue creating your own inks at home, as well as a pot of ink made during the workshop. The handout will include suggested recipes and a step-by-step of two ink making processes.

As the process of ink making requires a lengthy ‘cooking’ process, while we wait, you’ll have time to experiment with some inks previously made by Lucie. We’ll look at how different methods and tools such as brushes and natural materials can be used to create different effects. Although all materials including paper will be provided, bringing along a sketchbook is recommended to record your experiments with colour.

We will have a break for lunch halfway through so please bring along a packed lunch with you.

Included in your ticket

All materials for making the inks, as well as drawing materials, paper and readymade inks to experiment during the workshop will be provided. You’ll also be provided with a handout with recipes and a step-by-step, as well as a sample pot of ink made during the workshop to take home. Dedicated guidance will be provided to everyone who attends, no prior experience necessary.

Specially brewed loose leaf herbal tea and homemade cake will also be provided.

Please note that this workshop will require a minimum of 5 people to run. There are a limited number of lower priced tickets available for those who would benefit from paying a reduced ticket fee. If you are able to cover the full amount, please allow others who may benefit to have priority for these tickets.
