About this event

Join Tariqua, one of our Elders in our community, who is offering to share and let us remember the ancient knowledge for an immersive journey into the world of two resilient herbal plants:

The Dandelion & Nettle.

These universal and widespread plants offer us not only sustenance but also a deep connection to the natural world around us. In this workshop, we will delve into our human connection with these plants, exploring their medicinal properties, nutritional values, and the various ways we can incorporate them into our lives.

In our shared time we will be doing :

Foraging and Digging: We will venture into and around the garden to forage and dig up these herbal plants, we will speak on the respectful and sustainable practices of harvesting from nature. As we collect the plants, we will emphasise the importance of giving back to nature, offering gratitude for the gifts it provides us.

Circle storytelling and share : After our foraging adventure, we will come together in a circle to share our experiences and insights. Through guided reflections, we will tap into our innate wisdom and deepen our connection to the plants and the natural world.

Learning or skill sharing we will learn about the nutritional values and medicinal properties of dandelion and nettle. We will explore various ways to prepare and use these plants, from teas and tinctures to foods.

Due to limited space, we can accommodate up to 10 participants. The workshop is open to all People of Colour(POC).

We appreciate donations for the facilitator of this workshop and will be welcomed in a bucket in our space .

Donations will also be used to support efforts in organising future workshops.
