About this event
We're excited to announce that the first ever NAViGO Safeguarding Conference will take place on Thursday 18 November, 2021.
This one-day virtual event will see a variety of interesting speakers present on thought-provoking topics including:
- domestic abuse
- forced marriage
- child exploitation and county lines
- modern slavery
- honour-based violence
And what's more, it's completely free to attend.
As the provider of NHS mental health services to North East Lincolnshire, we're fully aware of the symbiotic relationship between safeguarding and mental health. We're also entrenched within our local community and understand the safeguarding challenges being faced by teams from a wide range of disciplines - from policing to teaching and from nursing to social work and beyond.
As such, we wanted to use our position to allow professionals from the borough and beyond to come together and pool their knowledge to find new ways of overcoming safeguarding obstacles.
We've specifically picked a range of inspiring and internationally-renowned speakers who will share their own personal experiences and the work that they have done in order to raise awareness and promote change across society.
Speakers include:
- Kenny Gibson (National Head of Safeguarding at NHS England)
- Jasvinder Sanghera (Founder of Karma Nirvana)
- Luke Hart (Founder of CoCo Awareness)
- SPACE (Stop & Prevent Adolescent Criminal Exploitation)
- Rachel Harper (Manager of the modern slavery and exploitation helpline at Unseen UK)
We'll broach some difficult and emotive subjects throughout the day, but there are no apologies from us. Each of the issues are ones being dealt with by people who are living in North East Lincolnshire today.
Let's work together to find out how we can work collaboratively to contribute positively.
