Nature Based Occupational Therapy
This 90-minute nature therapy group takes place in a calm forest environment and is designed to support adult women experiencing stress, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation. Facilitated by two occupational therapists, the session integrates sensory grounding, gentle movement, Chi Mi–inspired breathing and flow, creative nature-based expression, and guided mindfulness. Participants are supported to slow their breathing, notice body sensations, and engage with natural materials to promote present-moment awareness and emotional safety. Structured check-ins and a closing reflection circle encourage connection, self-expression, and the development of practical calming strategies that can be used in everyday life. The therapeutic focus aligns with occupational therapy goals of improving emotional regulation, reducing physiological arousal, enhancing coping skills, and fostering meaningful engagement in restorative outdoor environments.
