Neurodivergence & Burnout – Overview


Neurodivergent burnout is more than feeling tired — it’s a deep, prolonged exhaustion caused by masking, sensory overload, constant adaptation, and the pressure to keep up in environments not built for ND minds. This course offers a compassionate space to understand what ND burnout really is, why it happens, and how to recognise the early signs before overwhelm takes hold.

We’ll explore the emotional, cognitive and physical impact of burnout, the role of masking and chronic stress, and how autistic, ADHD, and otherwise neurodivergent adults often experience burnout differently from neurotypical people. You’ll also learn practical, gentle strategies to rebuild energy, reduce demands, support your nervous system, and create sustainable routines that work with your brain — not against it.

This session is ideal for ND adults (diagnosed or self‑identified), those experiencing long‑term exhaustion, and anyone wanting to understand themselves with more clarity, kindness and self‑compassion.
