About this course

Come and enjoy a session with me and learn about the fabulous craft of Needle Felting. During this one-off taster session we will make a wonderful characterful animal that can it in the palm of your hand or be attached to a hair clip or a keychain.

We will start by learning about our equipment and looking at how and why wool felts. We will then decide on what animal we will make and we can get felting!

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Have a cute and characterful felt animal to take home
  • Be able to work safely and confidently with needle felting equipment
  • Understand the basic principles of felting
  • Have a basic understanding of the raw materials used in felting

Please bring with you some clean, carded wool tops. Natural browns, reds and greys are good for cats and dogs or reds, blacks and oranges are great for tropical fish, bees and ladybirds.

The best place to find wool tops is World of Wool.

Go to the page for making a mixed bag. Choose 23mic Dyed Merino. 4 colours will be approximately £4.50. This will give you enough for two small animals.

Amazon also carry wool for needle felting if you prefer.

All other equipment needed will be provided on the day.
