About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Ages 16+
  • Free venue parking

We will meet at the Black Horse, 11 Cornmarket, Thame, OX9 2BL.

Parking: Free at rear of Black Horse. Due to Tuesdays being our Market day parking maybe limited. Other areas for parking (paid) can be found at Cattlemarket Car Park, North St, Thame, OX9 3FD. Please note that High St parking is only for max 2 hours.

Here is your chance to have a good go at needle felting. Be aware that sharp needles are used.

The workshop will be 2.5 hours long. I will provide the tools for you to try and then have small made up kits for you to buy if it is something you think you'd like to continue to do. I will provide the wool during the workshop but the wool will not be for sale at the present time. I can, however, give you the right contacts to order wool & supplies online.

You will create something during the workshop and you will, hopefully, take home a finished product. I will give a short talk about types of wool, needles, mats and other tools, so that you have a good idea of what is involved. Then it's down to making and creating.

This is a beginners (although anyone is welcome) workshop, for those of you that have never attempted needle felting before. I endeavour to create further workshops for intermediates or those that have been felting a little.

I look forward to seeing you.

If you are not lucky enough to be able to get a ticket, please add your name to the waitlist. I will be doing many more workshops if they prove popular.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring?

Yourself, a debit/credit card (the Black Horse is cashless) and an enthusiasm for creating & trying something new.

Do you provide refreshments?

No. The Black Horse can accommodate you with all your snacks/foods/drinks. They run a cashless system so bring a card or your phone.

Is the group large?

No. I prefer to keep the group to a maximum of 6-8 people at present. I then have time to attend to each of you and it is less overwhelming for all of us.

Do I need any experience?

No. You can join whether you have experience or not. If it is something totally new to you, then all the better. Unleash that hidden creative spark you have.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are welcome at The Black Horse, although not in the restaurant part. Make sure they have water with them and snacks.

What about parking?

There is a free car park to the rear of The Black Horse, however, as it is a Tuesday (Market Day in Thame) the car park maybe full. There is alternative paid parking around the town including the Cattlemarket car park, North St, Thame OX9 3FD.
