Net Zero and the Third Sector

Midlothian Community Action run regular events and a new training programme twice a year, usually in Autumn and Spring.MCA training & events are open to:Staff, volunteers and directors of community groups, third sector organisations and social enterprises that benefit people living in Midlothian.Anyone starting up or thinking about starting up a new community project or social enterprise that will benefit Midlothian residents.Community councillors and other Midlothian-based community activistsStaff from key public sector partner agencies (Midlothian Council, NHS Lothian, etc).Priority will always be given to people working in Midlothian, but where space allows we will offer limited slots to third sector colleagues from other areas of Scotland.Please check event description for specific details.

What is Net Zero, why is it important, and what does it mean for third sector?

Designed for charities, social enterprises and organisations/individuals who support them - any individual tasked with working on the climate agenda and sustainability or who wants to understand more. Join MVA to find out more about Net Zero and what your organisation can do to get started on your Net Zero journey. This event will cover:<ul><li>What is Net Zero?</li><li>Why is it important?</li><li>Overview of the Scottish Government&#x27;s Net Zero agenda</li><li>What does Net Zero mean for third sector?</li><li>Funding and Net Zero</li><li>Midlothian Carbon Pledge</li></ul>There will be a closed session at the end for third sector organisations to discuss needs and support to help them make the transition to Net Zero.
