In 2018 Jane Austen’s House Museum is celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the publication of Northanger Abbey and Persuasion, the novels that marked the beginning and ending of Jane’s writing career. There will be exercises to help you write brilliant openings and perfect endings (and some bits in between) whether you are an experienced writer or just starting out.
Rebecca Smith’s innovative guide to creative writing, The Jane Austen Writers’ Club: Inspiration and Advice from the World’s Best-Loved Novelist was published by Bloomsbury in 2016. She is also the author of three novels and her first picture book, Where's Jane? is published in February 2018. From 2009-2010 she was Writer in Residence at Jane Austen’s House Museum. She lives in Hampshire and teaches creative writing at The University of Southampton.
