Do I need to attend all 6 sessions?

We'd love for you to commit to all 6, but if life gets in the way, have a chat with one of the team and we'll do our best to support you.

Will there be real employers coming in?

Yes! You'll have the chance to hear directly from employers as part of the programme.

What if I'm interested in self-employment or different ways of working?

Great news — one of the sessions is dedicated to exploring alternative working options, including self-employment.

What age do I need to be?

The programme is open to men aged 55 and over who are unemployed or actively looking for work.

What if I'm currently claiming Jobseeker's Allowance?

No problem — if you're on JSA, you can still take part. Did you know you can also volunteer for up to 6 months while continuing to claim your benefits?

Will I be judged for being out of work?

Absolutely not. These sessions are designed to be a welcoming, non-judgmental space where everyone understands what you're going through.

Who is running the programme?

It's led by Age UK B&NES in partnership with Cool Ventures, Skills Connect, Bath College, and other expert local organisations.

What if I'm not sure I'm ready for employment?

That's completely fine - and you're not alone in feeling that way. This programme is about supporting you holistically, helping you to identify and work through the barriers you may be facing.
