NHS R&D North West exists to support the capability and capacity of the NHS health and social care research workforce. We provide the training, mentoring, and coaching to create a workforce passionate about research and its impact on patient care.

Live workshop: Applying to the programme – process, supervisors, mentors, and support

Holiday Inn Manchester - City Centre, an IHG Hotel

This live, in-person workshop supports potential applicants with additional information about the programme and application process. Sessions will clarify the roles of supervisors and mentors, what it means to work in a research delivery environment, how to create a personalised training plan, and how to obtain support from within an organisation.Lunch is provided, with dietary needs collected at registration.Please note: we do not cover parking expenses. What’s covered<ul><li>The application process: key steps, criteria, timelines, and common pitfalls</li><li>The role of supervisors: expectations, responsibilities, and engagement tips</li><li>The role of a mentor: complementing supervision and building an effective relationship</li><li>Working in a research delivery environment: roles, realities, alignment with service needs</li><li>Creating a personalised training plan: identifying needs, mapping learning, evidencing impact</li><li>Obtaining organisational support: approvals, letters of support, aligning to priorities</li></ul>
