Nitazene is Europe’s latest synthetic opiod threat. Join us in person for the Nitazene Workshop to dive deep into this powerful topic.
Welcome to the Nitazene Workshop!
Most European nations have been spared the devastation that fentanyl wreaked on the US. It not only killed tens of thousands, and ruined hundreds of thousands of lives, but provided challenges to law enforcement, fire hazmat and health professionals that encountered it. The toxicity of fentanyl is such that the US has categorised it as a weapon of mass destruction, and some of the analogues have a LD50 of chemical warfare agents. Now the same problems that US first responders and families had are going to happening in European cities with the advent of Nitazene.
Nitazene and its analogues are another synthetic opioid that poses a danger to life and health. The difference between an ‘effective’ dose and a lethal dose is incredibly small, and the individuals that are creating this narcotic are not skilled chemists. This one-day workshop will assess the threat from three angles, the detection of Nitazene, the decontamination of people and equipment and the health challenges should you encounter it.
The Netherlands has a long history of illicit drug labs, and while it missed the fentanyl wave, they are seeing a worrying amount of Nitazene being shipped in. Organisations like the Netherlands Forensic Institute are excelling in detection and prosecution of these cases and will be a key partner in this workshop.
This event is open to serving first responders, military, academics and scientific personnel from European and Nato partners.
We will also be holding a 20th Anniversary Celebration on the evening of October 21. More information can be found here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cbrne-worlds-20th-anniversary-party-tickets-1984292026868?aff=ebdssbdestsearch
