Do you want a different way of communicating in your life? Do you want to be more accompanied? more 'met'? more understood in your life?
In this Foundation training, we will cover the Foundations of Nonviolent Communication, including Core principles and Assumptions as well as Key skills that will support you with the following:
-Stepping into a powerful, loving connection with yourself and others.
-Exploring what nonviolence is all about and how it can benefit you and the people around you.
-How you can deal with conflict other than freezing, running away, or going into defensive fight mode.
-How you can have the challenging and real conversations that your life needs.
-How you can respond authentically and fully to the things you don’t like in the world.
-How you can open my heart for more peaceful living.
-How you can bring your unique gifts and talents out into the world.
Nonviolent Communication was developed by Marshall Rosenberg who drew on the humanistic psychology of Carl Rogers and the nonviolence of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, and give you the tools to approach life in a way that includes your own needs, while considering others' and the needs of the wider environment. It is a process and a support for complicated times.
The course will take place in Camberwell, South London, SE5 9JS. Nearest tube Oval (Northern line). We will finish between 9.30 and 9.45pm each night. 9.45 will be the absolute latest.
Cost: I am delighted to offer this training in a way that means (I hope) that anyone who wants to do it, can do so and that finances aren't the reason for people choosing or not to do it. I would suggest a sliding scale of £20 - £200 for the 12 hours of training and I would also suggest that we sort out payment at the end of the course, when you can decide what you are willing to pay. I imagine that someone on Income support or similar benefit with no savings, would pay £20 and people on a low income would pay a bit more, salaried people more, but that is not a recommendation. I would enjoy receiving resources that enable me to do this work and I request financial contributions (as one obvious way) to support meeting needs of sustainability, rather than a fixed notion of exchange or 'market value'. Happy to discuss any of this.
Please either read Marshall Rosenberg's book A language of Life or watch some of his youtube videos of which this is one example before the course begins.
