Welcome to the Nordic Walking Beginners Course!


Join us at National Trust - Woodchester Park on January 22, 2026 at 9:30 AM

This is a 3 week course running on the 22nd January, 29th January and 5th February.

1 hr per session.

To learn the art of Nordic walking. This course is perfect for beginners who want to explore the beautiful surroundings while getting fit.

During the session, your experienced instructor Evie will teach you the 10 step technique and benefits of Nordic walking. It's a fun and social way to exercise, suitable for all fitness levels.


Nordic Walking Beginners Course

Evie will guide you through the basics, teach you proper techniques, and help you get comfortable with your poles.

This is a 3 week course, 1 hr per week to learn the basics of the 10 step INWA technique for Nordic Walking.

Don’t worry if you’ve never tried it before Evie will expertly guide you. She even provides the poles for you which are specific to Nordic Walking and are hugley different to trekking poles.

This course covers an introduction to Nordic Walking.

  • Whats the difference from regular walking, its health benifits (cardio fitness, posture, joint relief, muscle engagement)
  • Choosing the right equipment, the correct poles and lenght for you. Why the hand strap is so important.
  • Correct poture and body alignment.
  • Pole technique.
  • Coordinationa and rythem.
  • Terrain awareness.
  • Warm up and cool down.
  • Safety and injury prevention.
  • Practice walk.

Eve is a British Nordic Walking instructor and runs many sessesions around the Stroud area. Once you have completed your beginners course you can then book on to any other sessions that Evie runs through out the week.

Come prepared with comfortable walking shoes, wearing layers and weather appropriate clothing and a water bottle. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with nature and improve your fitness!
