North Cluster Spring Network Meeting: Positive Transitions
Curriculum Conversations: Supporting Smooth Starts and Confident Steps – Ensuring Positive Transitions for Young Children in Birmingham
Join us for an interactive, discussion‑based session focused on how we can support positive transitions for young children across Birmingham.
We will explore a broad range of transitions, both everyday transitions (such as changes in routine, moving between activities, or different adults supporting them) and milestone transitions (such as starting nursery or school, or moving rooms or year groups).
Together, we will consider practical ways to help children and families feel confident and well‑supported.
During the session, we will explore:
- Insight into key transitions in early childhood
- Strategies to promote smooth, child‑centred transitions
- Opportunities to share experiences and network with colleagues
A valuable chance to connect, reflect, and strengthen our shared approach to supporting Birmingham’s youngest children through thoughtful transitions, while co‑creating a practical resource to enhance transition practice.
- - -
This is an in-person event at Osborne Nursery School for those working within the North Cluster Districts (Erdington, Perry Barr, and Sutton Coldfield). However, practitioners are welcome to attend any of the network meetings across the city if a different date/time/venue suits them better.
- South Cluster Meeting: Tue 24 March at Jakeman Nursery School
- Central & East Cluster Meeting: Wed 25 March at Adderley Nursery School
- - -
If you have any further questions about this session, please email the BEYN Coordinators: Clare Williams & Sue Bennett (info@birminghamearlyyearsnetworks.org)
NOTE: Places are limited, so if you book a place and your circumstances change and can no longer attend, YOU MUST cancel your place via Eventbrite as this will release it to the next person on the waiting list. We monitor bookings and attendance at all BEYN events.
