Overview

Online workshop to provide support with completing your response to the Scottish Government's Equally Safe consultatation.

The Scottish Government's Equally Safe consultation on 'challenging men's demand for prostitution' is open for responses until 10th December. We think this is a really important moment for sex workers' voices to be heard, and we want as many people as possible to respond if they can. We have published some suggested responses to help you which you can find on our website, but we also want to help you with any questions you have. This online workshop is an opportunity to hear more from Scot-Pep and ask any questions you have about the consultation.

The session will be informal, with two representatives from Scot-Pep and a small number of attendee places.

We expect the session to last for roughly one hour. We have also allowed for 30 minutes co-working time at the end, in case people find this useful (1 hour 30 minutes in total). During the session, Scot-Pep will outline the questions in the consultation and suggested responses from a perspective that centres sex workers' safety, health and rights. There will be space for questions during the session and at the end of the workshop, and during the co-working time.

We encourage people who are not sex workers to submit responses to the consultation, in solidarity with sex workers in Scotland. As such this session is open to both sex workers and allies. Umbrella Lane is holding online workshops in November and December, including some sessions which are sex worker only. If you would prefer to attend a Umbrella Lane session you can find details here.

Once you have registered a place we will be in touch with joining instructions by email. We will be hosting it on Zoom.
