عيد النوروز مبارك

Join us to mark Nowruz, the ancient festival that welcomes the Spring Equinox and the renewal of life.

Nowruz has over 3,000 years of history and is observed across Iran, Kurdistan, Central Asia and neighbouring regions. Rooted in cultural traditions, it symbolises renewal, dignity and hope.

This year, we approach Nowruz with reflection and solidarity. We gather in honour of those who have lost their lives in Iran, including Kurdish communities who have faced violence, and in recognition of the suffering endured by the people of Afghanistan in recent months.

Our intention is to create a space where culture becomes a source of resilience — where remembrance and hope can co-exist.

We will share traditional Nowruz foods and customs, live music and moments of collective reflection.

This event is open to everyone — those who observe Nowruz and those joining for the first time — with opportunities to learn about traditions such as the Haft-sin table, which includes seven symbolic items beginning with the letter “S.”

Sabzeh (greens) – rebirth and new life

Seeb (apple) – beauty and health

Seer (garlic) – protection

Samanu – blessing and abundance

Sanjed – love

Serkeh (vinegar) – patience and longevity

Sumac – sunrise and hope

We invite you to gather with respect, solidarity and shared humanity as we mark this Nowruz together.

A special thank you to our co-creators and community collaborators Afrooz Bayat, Zarifeh Peygar and Hesam Moshfegh.
