Nowt Without Artists: Dafties, Tiny Rebel
The Old Courts series of gigs platforming original grassroots artists in headline gigs.
Launched in November 2024, Dafties are an alternative/indie pop duo hailing from Wigan, Greater Manchester. In their explosive debut year, they released five singles, a live-recorded track distributed by Ameritz, and a 10-track debut album—all between November 2024 and September 2025. Their highly anticipated second album, Tea, is set for release in Q1 2026.
With over 125,000 streams in their first year, Dafties have earned airplay on BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio USA, and numerous local stations. Their appearance on the Ameritz Radar podcast offered insight into the creative spark behind their dynamic partnership.
Known for their intimate live performances across Northern England’s music hotspots, Dafties have drawn acclaim for their sharp, nail-biting lyrics and infectious gritty sound. Warrington Worldwide described them as “Lily Allen meets Sonic Youth,” while they’ve also received strong praise in publications from She Makes Music, Right Chord Music, and Thomathy Entertainment.
