Overview

The Old Courts series of gigs platforming original grassroots artists in headline gigs.

Join us in the Holding Cell for another dose of musical goodness!

Neil Jarvis

Neil Jarvis is a Wigan-based singer-songwriter known for his introspective, jangly, indie/shoegaze music. He began his musical career performing solo shows and experimenting with ambient sounds, later evolving his project into a full-band setup.

His style often features lo-fi recordings, blending ambient summery soundscapes, 1980s-inspired Casio keyboard beats, and sun-drenched pop elements. He frequently records at home, including using 4-track tape machines. A regular fixture on the Manchester music scene, his band Sprinters have released albums on Meritorio records and Icecapades and supported bands such as The Monochrome set, Chastity Belt, La Luz and Soko. His latest album ‘Day at the Park’ was released this summer on On The Grind. A solo affair revisiting his sun drenched pop sound combined with acoustic guitars and synthesisers.

Giddy Kipper

Somewhere in the deep deep dark depths of Springfield and Swinley Edge a new sound has been born! A mixture of esoterica, wonk and absolutely nothing. This new sound is something akin to clutching an inert gas or licking a beam of incandescent light.

Giddy Kipper is this new sound.

“It’s as if Klaus Weiss had recorded Desire.”

Shaun
