OASIS for Historic Environment Services - Support Workshop

OASIS V  has launched! Historic England is providing support and training to the sector through workshops to support the rollout.

<a href="https://historicengland.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Historic England</a> have commissioned <a href="https://msdsmarine.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">MSDS Marine</a> and Ashtree Heritage to provide support workshops for the rollout of the new Online Access to the Index of Investigations (<a href="https://oasis.ac.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">OASIS</a>) system.This workshop will provide training and support to Historic Environment Service users to promote the new system and provide training in its use. Please note a series of workshops is being rolled out targeted at different users. If you don&#x27;t currently work within Historic Environment Services you can sign up <a href="http://eepurl.com/gbOKrv" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a> for further updates on courses for other users including commercial archaeology, Museums and maritime archaeology.

Learning OutcomesAt the end of the course attendees will be able to:<ol><li>Explain the value of using OASIS as a coordinated, central system to record grey literature and archives
</li><li>Explain the differences between OASIS Standard and OASIS Lite and their advantages /disadvantages
</li><li>Describe how OASIS fits into a project lifecycle including digital archiving
</li><li>Describe how to incorporate OASIS into workflows
</li><li>Demonstrate how to complete and sign off an OASIS record
</li><li>Describe how OASIS can synchronise records with HERs
</li><li>Be more confident in advocating the use of OASIS within workflows and/or policy
</li><li>Explain how to access user support for OASIS
</li></ol>
