October 4 Week Throwing Course (Wednesdays)

A 4-week throwing course aimed at those wanting to get to grips with the potters wheel!

Suitable for total beginners or those that have already attended a class and want to improve quickly.

We have a small and intimate studio environment, so you will all have plenty of advice and tips from our pottery tutors. Walk away with a set of glazed mugs and bowls!

The sessions will run from 6pm - 8pm on the following Wednesdays; 8th Oct, 15th Oct, 22nd Oct, 29th Oct.

The ticket cost will cover you for all four sessions, including all materials and firings of four or five pots per person.

A clear glaze will be applied to all final pots and they’ll be ready for collection 3 weeks after the session. Your additional pots and glazes can be purchased during the sessions.

Please make sure you can make all the dates as we cannot offer alternatives or refunds.

Week one you'll learn how to centre the clay and throw basic cylinders. We will aim for at least two of your best cylinders to be made into mugs. These will be wrapped and kept until ready for the next stage.

Week two - bowl forms. We will aim for two bowls each and keep them wrapped up for trimming the following week.

Week three - trimming. You’ll learn how to trim your mugs to make them nice and neat on the base. We'll also cover making basic handles and how to attach them securely.

Week four will be trimming and tidying your bowls and any additional decoration.

What to bring

• Relaxed clothing that you don't mind getting a little messy. Bring your own apron if you have one.

Transport

• We are within a short walk from Stockport train and bus station. Parking is available at the Merseyway Shopping Centre NCP.

Refunds and Booking Terms

• Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. As the workshop fees part support the work we do for as a non-for-profit, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date.

• Unfortunately we cannot offer part refunds if you miss a session or are unable to attend!
