About this event

These workshops are designed for medium or large-sized clients (hiring organisations) and will cover client responsibilities from 6 April 2021. They are not focused on worker responsibilities and we will not be able to answer any questions about how the changes will affect workers on the day.

In this workshop we will be talking through the main points of the changes to the off-payroll working rules that came into effect from April 2021 for construction organisations who are subject to the 2021 rules. We will tailor the workshop content to meet your specific support needs, when you register for the workshop, you will have the opportunity to tell us which parts of the reform you would like to speak about.

Examples of the type of content that we cover includes:

  • Which engagements are covered by the rules
  • Status Determination Statements
  • The client-led status disagreement process
  • The recovery of debt provisions
  • Interaction with CIS
  • VAT reverse charge

This is an interactive workshop led by members of HMRC’s OPW education and support team. We encourage your active participation as you will have the opportunity to discuss what these changes mean to you throughout the event.

Our team members will be on-hand to answer any questions you may have on the rules. We will be as open and helpful as possible however we will not be able to provide answers to complex customer specific questions or scenarios on the day, the questions will need to within the scope of OPW as we cannot cover other tax areas and we cannot provide tax advice.

The workshop is expected to last up to one hour.

If you have a question you would like to put to the team before attending the workshop, please click this link below and you will be directed to a questionnaire. (This is a link to MS forms)
