Beyond the Streets

Given the numbers of women in the sex industry “working” indoors in venues or online, how do we as affiliated projects reach women who are yet to be reached?
 Beyond the Streets is hosting this interactive training day as the result of practitioners who have been connecting to see how can we work together across the Beyond the Streets network. Join us for input that will facilitate growth of your outreach activities, whether its shifting outreach from ‘on street’ to also supporting women selling sex indoors, or strengthening your outreach approach by hearing ‘what works’.
 We want to celebrate the fantastic work across the country, hear of the good practice that’s in place, whether you are new to the sector or more experienced as a project, here’s your opportunity to hear the stories, be encouraged, to learn from others in order to overcome challenges and see more women supported.
 The aim of the day is to share learning & good practice between projects in Beyond the Streets Affiliate Network who are working with women in Off Street contexts across UK. We aim to explore:

Scoping & researching Indoor (Off Street) Prostitution. Introducing the big picture, introducing ‘net reach’ a tool to research and develop your projects map of Prostitution in your area - exploring challenges and solutions of this area of work with women.

<LI>
Good Practice and Models of Working. We draw from the experience of established projects, sharing good practice and recognised models of working.
</LI>
<LI>
Share in progress with groups at a similar stage. Discussing key learning and resources together.
</LI>
<LI>
Overcoming specific challenges. Together with projects at a similar stage, you’ll discuss the specific challenges encountered in this area of work and share or develop strategies for overcoming these.

<LI>
 Next steps for projects. Together we consider how we can embed our learning into our project to advance our work in this area. Through reflective practice and interactive exercises, we work with you to develop an action plan for your project.

The cost of the learning day is £20 per person for affiliated projects.

Tea, coffee and refreshments are provided but please bring your own lunch.

For informal conversation and fun, join us for a drink afterwards to build relationships with other practitioners working in this area. Finishing at 4.30pm, drinks will continue until 6pm.
