Born To Be Wideis a Community Interest Company, based in central Scotland, which stages music business seminars, showcases and bespoke talks for other events and organisations.Since April 2008 it has hosted social evenings which begin with a discussion panel featuring key figures from the music industry. Subjects covered include:Releasing Music, Promoting Gigs, A&R, Music Festivals, Music PR, Record Sleeve Design, Radio, Music Photography, Music Management, Booking AgentsandStage Craft,  as well as a Norwegian night and a German special.Born To Be WidehostsWide Days, an annual two-day convention and showcase, which takes place in Edinburgh in April, and in 2013 the company launched theOff The Recordseries of daytime youth events. Its annualEdinburgh Night, provides a snapshot of Scottish talent gigging during the Fringe, with ten acts performing ten-minute sets.In addition to its own promotions, Born To Be Wide has also organised panels and Q&As for theScottish Parliament's Festival Of Politics, theEdinburgh International Book Festival's Jura Unboundprogramme,Heart Of Midlothian FC’s Big Hearts Foundation, theDepot Recording Studioand creative industries convention,goNorth.

Off The Record is an event series for young musicians and those who want to work in the music industry, and is open to anyone aged 14-25.*
The event will feature key figures from the music business taking part in seminars, workshops and advice sessions - all geared to demystifying the industry and providing knowledge to get you started.  
PANELS: Organising and Getting Gigs Find out what promoters look for, how to organise your own gig and how to avoid losing lots of money. James Bruce (promoter, PCL Presents), Michael Lambert (artist manager, A Modern Way), Nicky Carder (promoter, Beyond Presents) 
Promoting Your Music How to get noticed by radio, press and future fans. Amy Ferguson (producer, BBC Radio Scotland), Craig Gornall (blogger, Alive and Amplified) 
 Releasing Music Learn how a record label works, and how to release and sell your music. Martyn Flyn (Lucky Me), EmuBands 
 Working in Music A look at the diverse job opportunities in music and how to get your foor in the door. Chris Beltran (A&R Scout, Atlantic Records & booker, DF Concerts), Stina Tweeddale (musician, Honeyblood)
