Welcome to Freshwalks and for a tenth anniversary special, we're heading back to our roots by retracing the original steps of August 2014. We'll start the day outside Glossop station and after cutting through Old Glossop, will make our way up the steep slopes of Lightside towards Bleaklow via Dog Rock. Thereafter, we'll take in the B29 Superfortress plane crash site at Higher Shelf Stones before returning to Old Glossop via Doctors' Gate as we did ten years ago.

Pre-walk breakfast: You are welcome to join other walkers at Carluccio's, Manchester Piccadilly from 08:30 onwards.

Public transport: Please take the 09:33 train from Manchester Piccadilly which arrives in Glossop at 10:03

Parking: There is a small car park in front of Glossop station which has limited capacity. Alternatively, there is a larger long stay car park on Edward Street, Glossop, High Peak, Derbyshire, SK13 7AE. This car park is 5 mins walk from the station meeting point. Parking should cost £2.80 and is either coins or PayByPhone app.

Drivers are asked to arrive for 09:45 and gather outside the station. The walk will start as soon as the Manchester train lands. We'll take a picnic stop just after midday and expect to be back in Glossop sometime around 15:30.

Don't forget, you will need to bring a good supply of water and your own packed lunch. It's a long day. More information will be supplied in the week before the walk.

What's the refund policy?

You can self-manage a refund (minus platform fees) with 7 days notice via the Eventbrite app. We'll transfer your place to a similar future event given 24 hours notice.
