The training is named after Oliver McGowan.

Oliver was a young man who died because health and social care staff did not have the right training.

This showed the need for staff to:

  • 🧠 Build the right knowledge
  • 🛡️ Give safe and caring support

Because of this, the Government made this training mandatory.

📜 The law is called the Health and Care Act 2022.

This training is the recommended training for health and social care staff.

This course is Tier 2.

  • ❌ You do not need to attend Tier 1 in person
