One Big Game 2026

Join us for 24 hours of continuous football matches at St George's Park, all in aid of SpecialEffect!

One Big Game is back for it's 3rd installment and we're looking to make it the biggest and best event yet.

What originally kicked off back in 2020 as a challenge from SpecialEffect ambassador George Orton to Playground Games of a series of 22-player matches in-game on Fifa21 soon turned into a “one-off” match at St George’s Park, the home of English Football, between Rare and Playground. From the success of that match, One big game was born - 24 hours of continuous livestreamed football matches featuring teams from across the games industry, competing to win and raise money for SpecialEffect.

Date: Thursday 13th - Friday 14th August 2026

Time: TBC - kickoff will be confirmed in early 2026 and we will update you with further details of the day.

Location: St George's Park, Newborough Road, Needwood, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, DE13 9PD

Donation Entry Fee: £2000 which includes a squad of up to 16 players, refreshments, social media mentiones, a discounted SGP hotel rate and the opportunity to bring a guest commentator (please note that football knowledge is not required to be a commentator)

Payment can be collected immediately through Eventbrite or we can invoice you at a time that suits your finance schedules (SpecialEffect can not issue a VAT Receipt for orders placed through Eventbrite). If you would like to be invoiced, please email maddy@specialeffect.org.uk
