Ghost writing is a foray into another world, where the voices on the page might not be yours... Who wrote it? What does it want?
Week 4: Ghost Writing
Ghost writing welcomes you to another world... where the voices on the page might not be yours... Who wrote it? What does it want? And what was that noise behind the curtain?
Explore the unknown: from unknown secret writers to forgotten voices, from words that arrive from somewhere else to the things we cannot quite explain.
Ghost writing asks what happens when we give up control of the pen.
The session is underpinned by LISTENING as the key element. Alongside this we will experiment with inhabiting the lives and voices of others, as well as trance writing and meditation.
Participants are encouraged to each submit a piece of work, poetry or prose, of 300 words or fewer, four days in advance of the session.
This workshop is delivered by Anne Sikking.
Anne is a published writer and award winning poet, twice poet laureate, co-founder of City of Poets, and its first chair, 2022-2026. She is the originator and lead producer of OILCAN - the Musical currently under development.
"Using poetry to celebrate people and place is my forte. Being a co-founder of Glasgow's City of Poets has allowed me to share my skills and help develop everyone's innate poet, by building confidence and profile, as well as developing deep reach into the inner landscapes we all have.” - Anne Sikking
