This lunchtime event will launch a week of activities aimed at supporting and encouraging open research. Gain insights from Leeds colleagues on how they've benefited from open research, especially in the areas of research visibility and collaboration. Speakers include:

Nick Plant - Dean for Research Quality and Impact will open the week's events and talk about the value of open research

Simon Lightfoot - Pro-Dean for Student Education at Leeds and editor of the <A CLASS="Hyperlink SCX229385518" HREF="https://www.ujpir-journal.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Undergraduate Journal of Politics and International Studies</A> (UJPIR) will share his experience of setting up this open access journal and publishing it through White Rose University Press (WRUP)

Anna Reeve – Postgraduate researcher in Classics will talk about her recent placement at the British Library looking at etheses and DOIs, as well as her experiences of open research as a PhD student

Alaric Hall - Senior Lecturer in Medieval English will share his experiences of open research and Wikipedia 
</LI>

Lunch is provided and there will be time for networking. Representatives from the White Rose University Press will also be in attendance to discuss your ideas for OA journals and monographs.
