Open Arts Creative Session

Open Arts Creative Session

Overview

Bring along your own projects to our open arts session! Be supported by your local community to make time to be creative

Unfinished crochet project? Empty sketchbook yet to be filled? Want to try a new craft but unsure what? Feeling unmotivated to be creative?

Join us every 3rd Wednesday of the month for an Open Arts Creative Session, a session for you to bring your own creative projects along and be supported by members of our community.

This session utilises body doubling. It can be a struggle to motivate ourselves, even to do things we enjoy. When we are in a space with other people engaging in activities, it can give us the push we need to feel motivated.

This session is an opportunity for you to make time for creativity in a distraction free environment with community support and a variety of creative resources

General Information

While this session is set up in mind to support you in your own creative projects, we will have our usual supplies of pens, pencils, paper and paints on hand for you to use, as well as a range of guide books to inspire you - from watercolours to jewellery making to yarn mandalas.

Tea and coffee are available throughout the session free of change.

This session is open to all adults (18+) only. Our sessions are LGBTQIA+, disability, neurodiverse and mental health inclusive – every adult is welcome here. The area we will be in is located on the ground floor, and there is a disabled toilet available for use. Please reach out if you have any accessibility needs or questions.

This session will be held at Community360, Winsley's House, High St, Colchester CO1 1UG. There is good access to public transport, with bus stops nearby, and it is a 10-minute walk from Colchester Town Train Station. The nearest parking available are Britannia Car Park and Priory Street Car Park, and disabled parking at Winsley’s House is available if required.
