The Open Contracting Data Standard Helpdesk is a core service provided by the Open Contracting Partnership, working to support adoption of shared data standards for transparent and accessible public contracting data.

Join the <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.open-contracting.org" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Open Contracting</A> community for a one-day pre-event ahead of <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="https://transparencycamp.eu/unconference/#register" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Transparency Camp EU</A>.
In the morning take part in an interactive training workshop, introducing the basics of Open Contracting, details of the Open Contracting Data Standard (OCDS), and how to promote disclosure and participation at every stage of the contracting process. 
In the afternoon join us for presentations and discussions exploring the ways in which groups across Europe are making contracting data more accessible and more impactful.
<H2>About Open Contracting</H2>
Government contracting is worth trillions of dollars a year.
Open Contracting is about opening up public contracting through disclosure, data and engagement so that the huge sums of money involved are spent honestly, fairly, and effectively.
It's an idea that is at work across sectors and along the whole process of government contracting to use the power of open data to save governments money and time, deliver better goods and services for citizens, prevent corruption, and to create a better business environment for all.
The <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://standard.open-contracting.org" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Open Contracting Data Standard</A> (OCDS) provides a open standard format to provide open data and documents from all stages of the contracting process. 
This workshop is co-organised by the global <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.open-contracting.org" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Open Contracting Partnership</A>, <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://www.hivos.org" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">HIVOS</A>, and the <A TARGET="_blank" HREF="http://standard.open-contracting.org/latest/en/support/" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">OCDS Helpdesk</A>, creating a space for shared learning for groups from across Europe working on opening up contracting.
<H2>Outline agenda:</H2>
10:00 - 13:00 - An introduction to Open Contracting &amp; the Open Contracting Data Standard
Jointly facilitated by HIVOS and the Open Contracting Data Standard helpdesk.
Introducing the basics of Open Contracting, why it matters, and how to promote disclosure and participation across the whole contracting process.
The session will include an in-depth dive into the Open Contracting Data Standard (OCDS), and how it can be implemented as part of wider programmes of reform with both governments and civil society intermediaries.  
Suitable for anyone thinking about the basics of Open Contracting, and exploring how to implement or use OCDS data.

Lightning talks, followed by discussion. Including:
