About this event
This portrait session with one long poses give you a chance to take your work further and the time available make the sessions well suited to painting. Customised easels with a drawing board and a tray for your materials are provided as well as seated positions if you’d rather work sitting down. The studio also has specially designed lighting to give everyone a great working environment.
The sessions are not taught although there is always friendly advice on hand if you'd like a bit of help or feedback. All you need bring along is whatever you want to work with and lots of enthusiasm.
The studio is open from 5:30pm if you want to arrive early to get set up. That way you can start the session in the right frame of mind and get the most out of the evening.
One of the goals of Northern Realist is to create a hub of like minded artists to meet, swap ideas and see different techniques being used while pushing their own abilities. The open drawing sessions offer a great way to do this.
Everyone is welcome regardless of whether you’ve studied at Northern Realist. If you are interested in studying at Northern Realist, open sessions are a great opportunity to see the studio and get idea of what’s on offer.
