OpenTech Talks: Game dev skills in Tech

How game development skills can strengthen the broader tech sector

Skåne’s game industry is going through a period of adjustment. Recent layoffs at several studios have made a significant number of experienced game developers available - while, at the same time, many tech companies across the region continue to struggle to find the right technical talent.

This OpenTech Talk focuses on a concrete and timely question:

How can skills developed in the game industry be applied directly and successfully in other parts of the tech sector?

OpenTech and Game Habitat have joined forces to host an event especially designed to connect tech organisations and game developers. The event will focus on:

  • Concrete examples and experiences from tech companies that have successfully recruited game developers
  • First-hand perspectives from developers who have transitioned from gaming to tech
  • A shared language for understanding transferable skills and roles
  • The opportunity to connect directly with potential candidates, employers, or partners on-site

Seats are limited, and we recommend registering early.

  • Professionals involved in technical leadership, engineering, and product development
