Orchard Pruning and Care Day at Broadhurst Community Garden, Moston, MCR
Join us for a practical day of orchard care and pruning.
The Orchard Project, Lakeside CIC and FC United would like to invite you to a free day of practical pruning at Broadhurst community garden in the grounds of the famous FC United. It has a lovely one year old orchard planted lovingly by folks one year ago, and it is now time to do the first stage of pruning on any trees that are tall enough. We will also be weeding around the base of the trees and adding more mulch.
You will receive free training on how to do formative pruning on the young fruit trees, which will help to create the shape and height of the tree we want, no prior experience necessary. We will be using sharp tools, so participation is for supervised teens and over 18s only.
Please bring lunch and warm, outdoor clothing. There are toilets onsite. We will provide refreshments and all tools, but if you have any secateurs and gloves please bring them along!
Email: joe.ford@theorchardproject.org.uk with any questions.
Please note some people have found the garden hard to find as it is round the back of the football fields and FC United building entrance. Please use the What3Words: Newly.Voices.Hulk or search for Broadhurst Community Garden in maps.
Parking is in FC United grounds, access via 310 Lightbowne Road, M40 0FJ.
