Orchard Pruning and Grafting Workshop

Learn how to graft apple tree scion wood to appropriate root stock, and take home a tree to plant. Plus learn the art of orchard pruning.

Meet at 10am outside Chatsworth Kitchen, Peak Village, Rowsley.

We are delighted to have Ian Webster (retired head gardener from the Chatsworth Estate) to guide us through the theory and practical side of grafting apple tree scion wood to MM106 root stock (all tools and supplies provided - but you're welcome to bring your own as well). You will then pot on your grafted root stock - allowing you to take it home and grow it on in your garden.

Please bring your own packed lunch/drinks for a break between 12-1pm.

Then we will proceed out to our orchard on the nature reserve - to learn the techniques of winter pruning in our heritage orchard.
