Celebrate all things apple with some traditional singing, cider and storytelling,  in the heritage orchard of historic Cotesbach Hall.

Join us for the ancient tradition of Orchard Wassailing this autumn, which aims to ward off evil spirits and bless the trees. Dress up warm for a night of folklore stories, songs and mulled cider. Bring along a drum or tambourine, pots pans and spoons, or anything that makes a noise as we attempt to scare off those pesky evil spirits. Master of ceremonies for the night is local performer, poet and writer <a href="https://www.matt-black.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Matt Black</a> who has a few poems about apples up his sleeves! We will be lead in song by the Wassail King and Queen (AKA the renowned <a href="https://www.facebook.com/JustHatstand/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hatstand Band</a>) who will lead traditional songs in a good old group singalong. Ticket price includes a glass of mulled cider or apple juiceThis event is outdoors on uneven ground, and it will be dark so is unfortunately not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs. Please wear sturdy footwear or wellies and bring a torch or lantern. Feel free (but in no way obliged) to dress up!This event is suitable for all the family. Sorry but no dogs allowed.
