Outdoor First Aid
This 2 day First Aid course is suitable for anyone working in an outdoor environment.
Course requirements: No previous First Aid knowledge is required. Candidates should wear casual clothing (trousers) and be prepared to spend time outdoors in all weather conditions on day 2.
Successful candidates must be fit and able to demonstrate CPR and First Aid including:
Understanding the role of a First-aider
The importance of preventing cross infection
Recording of incidents and actions
Use of available equipment
Aims of First Aid and a First Aider
Safety and risk assessment
Unconscious casualty & Recovery position
Choking
Bleeding & Burns
Asthma Attack
Anaphylaxis and use of Adrenaline Auto-injectors
Poisoning
Resuscitation
Use of AED
Work place First Aid requirements. First Aid Kit contents
Administer First Aid to someone who is suffering from shock
Provide appropriate First Aid for minor injuries including cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and small splinters.
Each course allows practical hands-on experience using casualty simulation and resuscitation manikins. Please be prepared to spend time working on the floor. Training classes are small with no more than 12 participants. This ensures a friendly relaxed atmosphere and individual attention. The course is continuously assessed.
Certificates awarded to successful candidates are valid for three years
And as much as possible, your trainer will adapt and tailor the course to your specific requirements, and the type of real-life situations you’re likely to face.
What to bring with you – Lunch, weather appropriate outdoor clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.
