Overtone invites you to explore the hidden depths of our artist’s work through a textural, gestural and intuitive interplay between light and colour. Inspired by both natural and physical forms this collection presents a varied view, expressed through bright and bold shapes.W﻿RAP welcomes you to this FREE artistic journey through our spaces. Enjoy the fantastic work of local artists in the beautiful surroundings of WRAP. A complimentary welcome drink will be available on arrival, and our roof-top bar will be open for purchasing more drinks, nibbles, and to enjoy the spring sunset views of the sea. About the ArtistsAmber EliseAmber Elise is a contemporary artist, illustrator and muralist, creating bright, bold and optimistic pieces from her studio in Brighton. Ideas are brought to life through painting, screen-printing and paper-cut compositions, combining traditional methods with digital techniques. Viewing the world through a colour loving lens, she absorbs vibrancy from the everyday and translates this into her art.<a href="https://www.amberelise.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Website</a> | <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ambereliseartist/?hl=en" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Instagram</a>May Everett May’s work is fuelled by an interest to unify her practice as both a painter and printmaker and through experimentation, research and teaching. She works to explore the relationship between print / paint / paper / ink / canvas. She is interested in surface residue, material absorbency, gestural marks and layered impressions: the impact of the incidental combined with more controlled processes and collage elements. She uses a personal vocabulary to create sumptuous abstract paintings that deal with pure colour and form. Her paintings have a strong visual impact that is heightened by the use of a reduced palette. Her recent work is concerned with the process of painting; although paint can be guided it cannot be completely controlled so there is often a serendipitous discovery in the final outcome. From sea swimming, bike rides and walks, she is interested in the landscapes of past industries and settling culture in high contrast along the timeless ebbing shoreline of the island we live on.
