Paediatric First Aid Qualification

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid for preschool, nursery practitioners, childminders, nannies and other childcare professionals. The course meets the requirements for Ofsted and EYFS.

On successful completion of the 6 or 12 hour Course, the candidate will receive a certificate which is valid for 3 years.

The 6hr Emergency Paediatric First Aid course must be carried out face to face, with topics including the roles and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider, first aid kits, assessing emergency situations, management of an unconscious casualty who is breathing, and not breathing, seizures, choking, wounds, bleeding and shock, anaphylaxis and burns.

The 12hr Paediatric First Aid Course is done by carrying out 6hrs of e-learning online, followed by the 6hr Emergency Paediatric First Aid course (as detailed above). Additional topics covered in this course include head injuries, poisoning, injuries to bones, muscles and joints, asthma, diabetes, meningitis, hypothermia and heat stoke/exhaustion and objects in the eyes, ears or nose.
