In this FREE online talk and discussion, the Trust's Curator Antony Mottershead has brought together pioneering 1980's Paintbox artists Richard Bain and Adrian Wilson for the first time. They will analyze and contextualize Sidney Nolan’s first digital images, created on Quantel's 1981 Paintbox, discussing this revolutionary tool's wider importance and implications, both in the History of Art and in today's digital world.
This event is in tandem with our current exhibition Painting with Light, named after the BBC Paintbox series in which Bain appeared, and co-curated by Mottershead and Wilson.
Richard Bain is now Visual Effects Supervisor on movies such as Napoleon, and Wilson is a working Paintbox owning Visual Artist and photographer based in New York.
