About this event

Miss singing during the summer break? Or thinking of joining a choir and want a no-strings-attached way to try it out?

Local Choir Leaders Eleanor Rastall (Palace Acappella Choir) and Nicola Wydenbach team up to lead this fun and inspiring choir workshop to zing up your August!

Join Palace Acappella for a fun, stand alone workshop. All experience levels welcome. We promise:

😄 fun

🎶 a creative interlude learning something new

💪 some positive challenges and the chance to achieve something bigger than you could do alone

❤️ enhanced physical and mental wellbeing

🤝 a chance to get to know other local people

The workshop will start with a physical and vocal warm up, then we'll learn a round or simple song all together and add levels of challenge as we go. Perfection is not expected, laughter is!

We'll spend most of the session learning some new songs in different styles and in multi-part harmony.

The workshops is open to all adults who want to sing. Sheet music and/or lyrics will be provided.

Bring water and a pencil - and anything else you think you might need. NB the room can get quite warm in summer!

What Palace Acappella choir members say:

“A lovely way to loosen up, learn loads and laugh a lot in less than 90 mins!”, Kay

"Choir is something that i do for me and has been a wonderful way to meet new people, collaborate with fellow singers and perform in some amazing local venues", Holly

"Highlight of the week - helps relieve the stresses of the daily grind", Rachel

"Being part of PA is about more than singing. It’s learning different music genres from Mozart, to Sea shanties and everything in between. It’s understanding how to breathe properly, knowing where I hold tension in my body and learning to let it go so I can find my voice and make the most of its possibilities. And it’s learning to really listen to and appreciate the many different voices that combine to make our unique sound. It’s fun, challenging in a good way and it’s being part of a creative, collaborative and supportive community.", Diana
