Beginner friendly course in creating hand bound books.

Learn the beautiful and satisfying craft of hand bookbinding in this relaxed beginner-friendly workshop.

Artist and printmaker Maisie Keller will guide you through the traditional pamphlet stitch binding technique — one of the most versatile methods for creating handmade books.

During the session you will create two small hand-bound notebooks, learning how to fold, align and stitch your pages together using waxed thread.

Pamphlet stitch is perfect for:

  • sketchbooks
  • journals
  • zines
  • poetry notebooks
  • handmade gifts

You’ll also learn how to create simple decorative covers using coloured papers and card.

This is a wonderful introduction to bookbinding and requires no previous experience.
