This is a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) session. To get maximum benefit please bring your university-managed or personally owned laptop with you. The Panopto Recorder software is compatible with Windows 7 and above and Mac OSX.

Session length: 2 hours

Panopto is the University’s capture technology provider. Panopto can record audio with multiple video feeds, presentation slides and/or your computer screen. We currently have 100+ ‘Capture Enabled’ teaching rooms across the University which you can use to record or live stream your teaching sessions. Panopto is also available to use on University-managed PCs and Laptops and your own laptops or mobile devices so that you can record educational video content wherever you are. Panopto is integrated with the Canvas VLE which makes recording and sharing video content with students on your courses incredibly simple.

Panopto capture technologies can support a range of teaching and learning approaches such as classroom flipping, capturing demonstrations or instructions, recording or streaming lectures, supporting distance learning, producing supplementary materials, delivering video or audio feedback and much more. This hands-on session will provide you with everything you need to know to start capturing video content using your university-managed computer/laptop or personally-owned device.

  • How to capture with Panopto
  • Using Panopto in Canvas
  • Editing and sharing captured content
