The University of Kent’s Popular & Comic Performance research centre, in collaboration with The Beaney, The Marlowe and Special Collections and Archives present PANTOMIME THEN & NOW

A day-long celebration of pantomime past and present, perfect for panto enthusiasts, theatre fans or anybody who wants to find out more about the world of the stage. Starting at the Templeman Library at the University of Kent, before moving on to the Beaney, and finishing up at the Marlowe Theatre, the day will be jam-packed with activities, including:

  • Two exhibitions of pantomime material drawn from the University of Kent's Special Collections & Archives!
  • A talk on pantomime history from Professor Jim Davis of the University of Warwick!
  • A talk on contemporary pantomime from Simon Sladen of the Victoria & Albert Museum!
  • A pantomime quiz!
  • A backstage tour of the Marlowe Theatre!
  • A Q&A session with members of the cast and creative team behind this year’s Marlowe panto, Peter Pan!

As an extra bonus, anybody booking tickets for this event will get a 15% discount on that evening's performance of Peter Pan at The Marlowe!
