Parent Drop-In: EOTAS & Section 19 Explained

Parent Drop-In: EOTAS & Section 19 Explained

Online event
Monday, May 25  •  7 PM - 8 PM GMT+1
Overview

Understanding EOTAS, Section 19, and alternative provision support when school isn’t currently working.

If your child is struggling to access school, you may have heard terms like EOTAS or Section 19 but not fully understood what they mean or when they apply.

This parent drop-in session is designed to explain these pathways clearly and help families better understand what support options may be available when traditional school settings are no longer working.

We’ll break things down in a practical, parent-friendly way without jargon or overwhelm.

What We’ll Cover
  • What EOTAS means and when it may apply
  • Understanding Section 19 responsibilities
  • When alternative provision may be appropriate
  • How support outside school can work in practice
  • How provision like Gaia may be included within an EHCP

We’ll also briefly discuss:

  • flexible learning pathways
  • reintegration support
  • and how support is sometimes funded through schools or Local Authorities

Who This Session Is For

This session may be helpful for parents and carers whose child is:

  • struggling to access school consistently
  • experiencing anxiety or school avoidance
  • unable to cope within traditional settings
  • currently out of education or on reduced timetables
  • navigating EHCP discussions or alternative provision pathways

What To Expect
  • Clear explanations in plain language
  • A supportive, parent-focused discussion
  • Practical guidance and context
  • Opportunity to reflect and ask questions
