Learn practical strategies to encourage independence with daily activities like feeding, dressing and toileting.

Details:

  • A group session for Hackney parents led by Occupational Therapy
  • When: Friday, 4th March 2026, 9:30am - 11.00am
  • Where: Hackney Ark

    Group session aims:
  • To introduce factors that may impact on your child's independence in daily activities like toothbrushing, washing and dressing.
  • To identify a goal that you want to work on with your child.
  • To introduce general strategies to support your child to work towards their goal.
  • To share ideas and learn from other parents/carers and occupational therapists.
  • To give you a chance to trial strategies and then feedback in your individual follow up session about how things are going.
  • Please note, this session does not provide support around behaviours that challenge.

Important information:

  • This workshop is for residents of the London borough of Hackney only. Please do not book a ticket if you do not live in Hackney.
  • Please ensure you fill in all mandatory questions on the order form at the point of booking. If you do not submit this information your order will be cancelled.
  • By booking your ticket you confirm you attendance at the group session.
  • This is an NHS funded intervention. If you are no longer able to attend please ensure that you cancel your ticket so that your space can be offered to another family.
  • If you identify an OT goal during the workshop and would like to access further support. you will have the option to book an individual follow-up slot at the end of the session
