Parish Safeguarding Officer Induction

This course is suitable for all new Parish Safeguarding Officers and any PSOs who would like a refresher or to network with other PSOs. Training takes place in person at Flourish House, Wells and begins at 10am.

By the end of this pathway participants will be able to:

• Understand the role, responsibilities, and key working relationships of the Parish Safeguarding Officer, including the Local Authority, Diocesan Safeguarding Manager (DSM) and Parochial Church Council (PCC).

• Identify a variety of approaches to raising awareness and improving safeguarding practice.

• Evaluate safeguarding information reported by members of the church or community and determining an appropriate response.

• Utilise Parish Dashboards and use them to build development plans for safeguarding practice in their context
