OBJECTIVES
The webinar will cover:
- the problems and pitfalls encountered by those appearing in court for the first time
- Essential court craft - how not to annoy the Sheriff
- preparation and presentation both in the context of evidentiary and non-evidentiary advocacy
- motions and hearings
PARTICIPANTS
This Zoom webinar is aimed at those appearing or soon to appear in court for the first time as well as those beginning to undertake more substantive civil hearings. It may also benefit more experienced practitioners seeking to improve their court room skills.
SPEAKER
Andrew Ireland, Consultant, DAC Beachcroft Scotland LLP. He has obtained a Diploma in the teaching of Advocacy Skills from the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, USA. Andrew has taken part as local Faculty in NITA courses run in Scotland for both the Scottish and Irish Solicitor Advocates' Societies.
