P.A.S.T Adventure Series

The P.A.S.T adventure series spotlights the amateur. Join us for an evening of story telling, good food and connection.

We would like to welcome you to the P.A.S.T adventure series. On Friday the 6th of December, 3 people in our community will share their experiences of being on two wheels. <ul><li>First story teller, Emma Wood. In 2023, Emma and her Dad Steve travelled from John o Groats to Land's End. Emma was riding her £500 bike from Decathlon, and Dad Steve was driving the support van. Emma will be sharing her story of an adventure 10 years in the making and what can come from carving out time to make memories with our parents.</li></ul> <ul><li>Second story teller Lucy Greehy, will be sharing her journey of cycling solo from Bournemouth to Land’s End, squeezed between working night shifts as a Doctor at Bournemouth Hospital. Her story highlights how adventure can start right from your doorstep, even with limited time. Lucy’s experiences with hostelling made the solo trip feel manageable, proving you don’t need to sleep in a bush in a bivvy to embrace adventure. We'll be hearing what made this trip a turning point for Lucy, learning that solo adventures can be deeply fulfilling—even if other people thought she was weird.</li></ul> <ul><li>Third story teller, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/abby_popplestone/" title="https://www.instagram.com/abby_popplestone/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Abby Popplestone</a>. In 2023 Abby cycled across the African continent, pedalling through 9 incredible countries. Abby will be sharing her motivations for riding through Africa, her experiences of being a solo woman, what happens when the worst happens, and finding love and community on the road. She'll reflect on how it felt to confront her biases (and deflect everyone else’s), which is what inspired this journey in the first place.</li></ul> The P.A.S.T adventure series spotlights the amateur. The person who already won by getting to the starting line. The person who got out of the rut and went on an adventure. The person who had 9 hours without the kids so went to the forest for a camp out before being back for the school run in the morning.We're not doing anything the best, or for the first time. We're not the fastest and we're not being sponsored. There's no medal at the end.
