Stitch-Up is an innovative social enterprise dedicated to teaching, showcasing and promoting textile craft and makers in a modern world.We are a collective of talented and local makers and designers bringing you modern, fresh and exciting workshops, events and community projects to engage and inspire people of all ages and abilities to learn a valuable new craft skill.As well as focusing on the practical benefits of learning a craft we also believe in the power of making time for craft and creativity on improving everyday wellbeing, bringing people together and helping you to develop really valuable life skills.As a community interest company we are dedicated to reinvesting any surplus profit back into community projects, supporting makers and making opportunities to learn a new craft accessable to all. Introduction to Patchwork and Quilting with Elnaz

Meanwood Community Centre

Join us for an Introduction to Patchwork Paper Piecing and Hand Quilting with Elnaz as part of our new Thursday Taster evenings!This workshop will guide you through the basics of patchwork by hand, encouraging you to recycle and use a mix of materials and shapes to create your design. You will also learn an introduction to quilting by hand, learning hand stitches and techniques to produce a sample quilt.You will get to take away and finish what you complete in the session working towards a finished piece in your own time. The session will guide you through the techniques and steps slowly, suitable for complete beginners.All materials are included as well as Hot drinks and biscuits.To make our Thursday taster evenings as accessable as possible, we have made the tickets as low cost as we can without affecting the quaility of the workshop. There is ample parking available at the Community Centre Car Park. If you cannot fit in the Car Park, please park on the main part of Stainbeck Avenue, with consideration to the residents please do not park in the cul-de-sac.
